The New [calendar] Year has started, and it’s been busy days as we’ve returned to work. But 2016 is more than just moving into another grading period and approaching the bunches of Mondays off that happens every year.
We’re really excited because 2016 is a rather important year in ParaEducate history. It has been four years since we officially released the book ParaEducate for sale. It officially was printed February 29, 2012. If you’ll notice that date: it’s a leap year. So we’ve finally hit a mile stone. Check for special blog posts in February!
We’re making more modified and adapted assignments available for people and we do have campuses that are piloting some of our unpublished works and we’re getting a clearer picture about how material is taught and reaching more students, making them more aware of their world and the issues their peers are studying and appreciating. We’re also looking at trying to provide scaffolding to help paraeducators better understand specific topics taught within units, to give you more education to better support students in reaching
We’re reaching out and building a better professional network with more teachers, more student teachers who are on the verge of becoming teachers, and other support staff (OT, APE, PT, AT, SLP, etc.) You all play a vital role in the IEP team and trying to explain what is occurring in the classroom with the student(s) is important to describing the picture that may help change an approach to a student’s learning.
ParaEducate is looking ahead to summer, just six months out and planning the book releases that we hope will be prepared this summer. While we cannot tell you which ones will be ready, we’re really hoping an addition to the history series will be ready.
ParaEducate is totally excited to be ready and a part of your remaining 2015-2016 academic year.
